Unemployed!

I was lying across the bed waiting for Milk to come into the bedroom, and I looked at the candles to make sure they were still burning. I could see the surprise on Milk’s face when he opened the door. He turned the lights on.

“Don’t just stand there. Come in and close the door.”

“What’s up?” he asked, sitting down on the side of the bed and taking his shoes off.

“I’m what’s up! You don’t like my outfit?” I got up off the bed and posed for him.

I didn’t remind Milk that my birthday was coming up because I knew it would make him feel bad for not being able get me anything. He has been very distant for the last few days and gone more often than home. I was starting to get the feeling that he was hustling again. My Aunt Neicy sent me a gift card to Victoria’s Secret for my birthday and I spent most of it on a red satin and lace teddy. Milk stood up and took his shirt off, but it seemed like he was trying to avoid looking at me.

“What’s wrong with you, Milk?”

“Ain’t nothing wrong. I’m ‘bout to go take a shower,” he answered, while walking around me as if I wasn’t standing there half naked.

“Don’t keep telling me there is nothing wrong. You’re gone all the time now and when you are here you barely say two words to me.”

“Not now, Sabrina,” he said as he took off his pants.

“I don’t want to hear that either. You ain’t been home a good month. What you fucking somebody already?” I said with an attitude. Milk ignored me and opened the bedroom door, but I blocked him from leaving out of the room.

“Ain’t nobody fucking nobody, now would you move?” Milk stood there and waited for me to move, and when I didn’t he went back over to the bed and picked the jeans up off the floor that he just took off less than a minute ago.

“Where are you going now?” I closed the bedroom door. I didn’t want to wake up the kids.

“Out,” he said. After putting his boots on and lacing them up, he walked towards the door.

“Out where?” I folded my arms across my chest. Then I locked the bedroom door and stood in front of the door knob. Surprisingly Milk didn’t put up a fight. Any other time he would have picked me up and moved me out the way but he didn’t. Instead, he went back over to the bed and sat down. Then he ran his hands down his face in aggravation and stood right back up.

“I ain’t fucking with nobody, Sabrina,” he calmly said.

“Like you would admit to it if you were. I won’t make you stay if here is not where you want to be.” I moved from in front of the door and walked over to the dresser.

“Where I want to be at then, prosecutor?” he asked in a sarcastic tone.

“No telling with you, Milk.
